Our Champion, The Winner

We received a call this morning from Hopewell House Hospice. Our valiant champion, son and friend passed away this morning at 8:50am. We thank you all for your love, support and prayers. This is a sad day. Yet, we know that Charles has entered a realm with family, peace, beauty and love. A place we can scarcely imagine. We are thankful to Heavenly Father for all his blessings; for our Saviour Jesus Christ and His gospel which give meaning to this life.

We will post Charles' service arrangements.
Don

  3. I heard the announcement over the store intercom, but it didn't register for a minute or two... Charles has passed, it was surreal. Walking to the back of the store I asked someone what the announcement was, again... it didn't register.
I ran into several team members at the back of the store, all in tears, all remembering the little things about Charles that brought joy, that brought comfort... It hit me, this was real, it is true. Charles a man of great character, of endless spirit and bounding positivism, unselfish, caring, always caring. The sun is out today, I believe the warmth of the light and rays of the sun is showing Charles the way... but what I want to believe, it's the warmth of Charles telling us all that it's okay.. it's okay....
Just like him to do that for us, caring, always caring...

  4. Aaron... Chuck... Charles...

Our dear, dear friend. Thank you for blessing us with your wonderful, amazing self.

You will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. I am so glad to have known you for so long and at so many different stages in your life. Though deeply sad, I am trying to remember how lucky I am to have known you.

    Rest well, dear friend.

  5. To the previous poster: what a beautiful, moving, and accurate depiction of Charles.

Charles (or Chuck, as I always knew him), was one of the most positive, good-natured people I've ever known. The first summer I lived with him in Eugene was the best time I had living in that city simply because of his amiable nature.

One of the most memorable moments was when I returned from a day of classes, walked through the door, and was greeted by Neil Diamond blasting out of the TV and Chuck passionately singing and dancing along.

Though we kind of lost touch when I moved away, I will miss him greatly and my heart goes out to all those whose lives he brightened even more than mine.

  7. Okay I have started this posting several times not knowing the right words to say. My heart is deeply saddened today. I was just talking to a co-worker and we said how very lucky we were to have been able to know him as a friend and to also be his co-worker. I admire your fight on the battle. You are a true HERO!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your dear sweet Karlin. May you finally be at peace. We love you. Ruth

  15. No matter what was going on at work, you could always count on Charles to be smiling. He has such a radiant personality that spreads around like sunshine. I am deeply saddened to hear of his departure of this world but am over joyed to know that he is in a much better place with Jesus Christ, that is pain free. He was such an inspiration to me; playing softball with him and seeing his always positive attitude and the way he treats everyone so kindly was always uplifting.
I know he is watching over everyone and he will always be with us no matter what.
Charles you have a wonderful spirit, don't let anyone hold you back up there.
